I think there are 3 general tiers of usage (general being the key word).ġ) iPad (~$1000): Email, Web Browsing, Social Media, light-moderate photo editing, light-moderate Office Apps (word processing, spreadsheets, powerpoint, etc). It really comes down to what you need from your iPad or Macbook. So I have been using an iPad Pro 12.9" the last few weeks to see if I can get by without the Macbook Pro. I was quite ticked that I couldn't even drop off my $2500 computer for 2 weeks, and I don't want to buy another Macbook Pro when mine dies. The last time took 2 weeks just to get an appointment to drop it off.
I have a 15" Macbook Pro, that has needed service a few times lately (keyboard, battery, SSD).
